Simon A. Meester has been appointed as president of Geni e, effective 1 August 2021. He will continue to report to John L. Garrison, Jr., chairman, president and CEO of Terex Corporation.

\n\n

Most recently, Mr Meester served as chief operating officer of Genie. He joined Genie in 2018 from Eaton Corporation, where he was vice president and general manager of the industrial control division. Prior to this, Mr Meester held senior roles at Caterpillar and Sandvik.

\n\n

“Simon's leadership has kept Genie team members safe during the pandemic, while leading key strategic initiatives to deliver quality and value for our customers,” said Mr Garrison. “He is a proven leader with a deep understanding of the business, our customers’ needs, and how to drive growth. I am confident that he is the right person to lead Genie forward.”

Mr Meester commented, “Genie has committed team members, strong customer relationships, and a passion to innovate and grow the business. I am honoured to lead Genie and build on our momentum as we continue to position Genie for the future.”

\n\n

In his new role, Mr Meester will continue to be based at Genie’s headquarters in Redmond, Washington, the US.

Terex Corporation announced today (9 June) that John L. Garrison, Jr., chairman and CEO of Terex Corporation, will take on additional responsibilities as president of Terex Aerial Work Platforms (AWP), effective immediately. Matt Fearon, the current AWP president, is leaving the company on 1 August 2020 after 25 years with Terex, AWP and Genie, AWP’s flagship brand.

\n\n

Simon A. Meester, vice president of global sales and marketing administration for AWP, will be promoted to chief operating officer, Terex Aerials. Mr Meester and Clint Weber, general manager of Terex Utilities, the company’s other business in the AWP segment, will both report directly to Mr Garrison in his role as president of Terex AWP. The Terex executive leadership team will continue to report to Mr Garrison in his role as chairman and CEO of Terex Corporation.

\n\n

“We thank Matt Fearon for his many contributions to Terex,” said Mr Garrison. “Matt has been a dynamic and much-admired leader who helped Genie grow from a regional brand to a global powerhouse. He arrived as an engineer 25 years ago and went on to key roles including VP operations, VP and managing director of EMEAR, VP and general manager, Americas, and ultimately president of AWP.”

\n\n

Mr Meester joined Terex in 2018 from Eaton Corporation, where he was VP and general manager of the Industrial Control Division. Earlier, he spent 14 years in progressively senior roles at Caterpillar, before becoming president of Sandvik Mining and Construction in India. Mr Meester has managed global teams and operations for 20 years, based in seven countries, including eight years in the United States.

“I look forward to working closely with Simon and Clint, and their terrific teams at Genie and Utilities,” said Mr Garrison. “We congratulate Simon on his expanded responsibilities, and we send best wishes to Matt for continued great success in the years ahead.”

Craig Kittle has been appointed as Genie director of technical services for Asia Pacific (APAC) & China at Terex AWP, supporting aerial equipment customers in the APAC countries - including Australia - and China.

\n\n

In this role, Mr Kittle has responsibility for coordinating and actively managing the Genie brand’s technical service, used equipment and product support operations for APAC, Australia and China. He started his new role on 8 July 2019 and supports the region from the Genie offices in Brisbane, Australia.

\n\n

“Craig has jumped right into the role and is adding tremendous value in the region for Genie,” said Matt Treadwell, Genie vice president of parts and services at Terex AWP. “Initially, his focus has been to develop and build customer-focused strategies, as well as to implement processes, systems and tools that enable Genie to deliver excellent service to our customers. Craig’s ongoing efforts will continue to endorse Terex AWP as a strong technical services leader in the region.”

\n\n

In addition, Mr Kittle will also lead and be accountable for excellent and seamless collaboration between the Genie brand’s technical service, used equipment and product support teams, as well as other business functions, including engineering, sales and marketing, and operations to better serve Genie customers throughout the region.

\n\n

Prior to taking on this new role, Mr Kittle served as director of operations at the Terex manufacturing facility in Oklahoma City, USA.
